Between 2018 and 2021 Big Picture redefined the Broadcast for the annual Australia Day event on Sydney Harbour. From Garden Island to Barangaroo, this 25 camera, all day broadcast was a testament to how seamlessly a decentralised OB can work. Linking in remote elements form the top of the Harbour Bridge to Government house from the HMAS Canberra and HMAS Choules to the jet skis in Circular Quay everything was tied back to the main site on the Opera House forecourt.
Big Picture provided the network and signal backbone for all departments as well as being the host broadcaster of the event. As well as the Broadcast elements, Big Picture also supplied screens for the Main stage as well as a floating double-sided screen in the centre of Circular Quay.
